The simple truth is that without the volunteer effort of the people from Shar-On, many Taft families would go hungry.
Every month, Laborers of the Harvest distributes literally tons of food to an increasingly hungry community. This requires a huge amount of time to collect, organize, pack, distribute and clean up. The result is thousands of Taft residents receiving food that they desperately need.
The hundreds of hours of volunteer labor come primarily from members of the Shar-On community.

SHAR-ON ES UNA PEQUEÑA ORGANIZACIÓN SIN FINES DE LUCRO CON UN CORAZÓN ENORME
No somos un banco de alimentos ni un comedor de beneficencia. Somos un grupo diverso y "colectivo" de personas que trabajan juntas para marcar una diferencia en la vida de las personas, incluidas las personas sin hogar, jubiladas y de negocios.
Shar-On tiene que ver con las personas y la comunidad. Hemos sido testigos de los cambios positivos que ocurren cuando esas dos fuerzas se unen. Shar-On es una organización práctica y de primera lÃnea. Ayudamos a las personas dondequiera que se encuentren en sus vidas y brindamos oportunidades para que las personas transformen las situaciones y circunstancias en las que se encuentran. Muchas de las personas a las que servimos no tienen hogar; sin embargo, estamos viendo un aumento dramático en la necesidad de una sección representativa más amplia de la comunidad.
Tenemos varios programas y continuamente se están implementando otros nuevos. Nuestro programa principal es Sandwich Social. Ofrecemos comidas deliciosas y calientes que se preparan y sirven con amor todos los dÃas, y que alimentan a más de mil personas cada mes.
